# please github and please change origin<no value>

Two commands for setting up and moving where a project lives on GitHub.

<!--more-->

## please github

```bash
please github [github-origin-url]
```

Initializes Git if needed, switches to `main`, creates the first commit, sets `origin`, and pushes, all in one step. The URL is optional once `origin` already exists.

The same guardrails as `please commit` apply to the first commit: sensitive files like `.env` are skipped unless already staged, and build/dependency directories are added to `.gitignore` automatically before anything is staged.

## please change origin

```bash
please change origin <url>
please change origin and push <url>
```

Moves the repository to another remote. The plain form only repoints `origin`. The `and push` form also publishes every local branch and tag to it, preserving history.

Both forms ask for confirmation before touching anything.
