The please config command opens an interactive configuration menu to tweak the behavior of please.

please config

Options

Currently, the primary configuration option available is the Feedback loop.

Feedback loop

When the feedback loop is enabled, please will pause and ask for your explicit [y/N] confirmation before executing major or destructive tasks.

  • In please commit, you will be prompted to review the generated commit message.
  • In please push, you will be prompted before pushing to the remote branch.
  • In agent commands (like please chat), every mutating action already asks for confirmation by default, feedback loop or not, see Agent Mode. With it enabled, the agent also confirms its read only calls (git status, please log, and the like), for when you want visibility into everything it does, not just what it changes.

You can also trigger the feedback loop on a one-off basis by appending --feedback or -f to any command, even if the persistent setting is disabled.
